My opinion so far: Yesterday, Crashing Sky/Rising Tides was kinda eh (mostly because I thought it was going to be something bigger), but it's this episode that I didn't suspect that makes me go "oh shit." Holy fuck. Can I say excellent job on creating the forced fusion beast animation? That legitimately freaked me out.

Shame we didn't get a chance to see more Ruby and Sapphire, but then again that's probably for the best, they would have been catatonic on the sidelines. ...What the fuck show am I watching again?

I know some people have been rethinking their ideas on Gem fusion being a somewhat creepy way to portray a relationship since there's the chance that the original people can get lost in the identity of the resultant fusion, but I think that it still checks out if you compare it to the real life changes in identity when in a long-term relationship. An example would be a couple who's been living together long enough that they can't really imagine life without the other. Another would be your parents: kinda hard to imagine that these people used to have separate lives and identities a way long time ago, but together, they form the incredible, unified identity that is simply being your plain-old boring parents. :P

But yeah, this episode was great, and I'm kinda afraid to see what else this show is going to pull on me. Still looking forward to tomorrow though!
